The Association for European Training
and Information was founded in 2003 in Chisinau, Moldova
by the participants of the Training of Trainers program
"The European Union and Moldova: Transition processes
and Strengthening the partnership". This program of
InWEnt - Capacity Building International, Germany was implemented
by the Institute for Public Policy (Moldova) and the Institut
für Europäische Politik (Berlin, Germany) in 2002-2003.
It was financed by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany
in the framework of the Pact of Stability for South East
Europe. All of AETI members are internationally certified
European Union Trainers and provide trainings in a wide
variety of topics related to the EU.
Since 2003 AETI was involved in providing a series of trainings
on EU issues, including: workshops for public administration
(focused on areas covered by the EU-Moldova Action Plan),
seminars for border guards and customs officers,
training sessions for Moldovan high schools and universities,
information and research for UNDP.
Its recent affiliation with the EU Trainer Regional Network
(based in Skopje, Macedonia) that comprises membership from
Albania, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Ukraine offers
promising perspectives for exchange of training experience,
joint research and information campaigns.
